 Nutrition
Coral nutrition is complex. Corals are known to ingest a wide array of resources; organic molecules (POM, DOM), inorganic molecules such as nitrate, phosphate and bicarbonates, phyto-, zoo-, bacterioplankton and even small invertebrates and fish. Recently, the husbandry of azooxanthellate corals such as species from the genera Dendronephthya and Tubastrea has become a new challenge for advanced aquarists.

Determining and providing the proper nutrition for these animals is key to success. Scientists uncover more information about specific coral diets every day. Find out more about it in this section.
